Homeland Security/E-911 Director

The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness

The main function of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is to safely and effectively manage technological and natural disasters. This is done through the management of the preparation, response and recovery phase of any incident. This office works closely with parish employees, fire department personnel, local, state and federal law enforcement, industry and hospitals, the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness and numerous other agencies, to assist the public during a disaster.

The E-911 Department is also located in this office. This Department assists residents in creating new addresses, and administers the E-911 Communications System under the guidance of a board of commissioners appointed by the Iberia Parish Council. This board sets policies and procedures. The office is funded by the 911 fee on your phone bill.

In an emergency, Iberia Parish can send emergency messages to land line home and business phones in Iberia Parish. We recommend you enroll your cellular phone in this system as well so that you may receive emergency information by either voice or text message when you are away from your landline phone, or if you do not have a landline phone. You may also enter your email address to receive email alerts. In order to enroll your cellular phone or email in our emergency notification system, you must click on the link below and enter your information. This link will take you to a registration page operated by the FirstCall Network, the contractor who operates our Parish Emergency Notification System. Iberia Parish and the FirstCall network will not share your information.
