Iberia Parish – Here is our latest forecast from the NWS in Lake Charles:
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a broad area of low pressure in the central Gulf of Mexico. Upper level winds are expected to become more favorable for tropical development on Thursday, before the system makes landfall on Friday on the south Texas coast. The NHC formation probability is a high (70%) chance.

Locally we will continue with above normal rain chances through Saturday. Be careful when you drive into one of the heavier showers as visibilities will be reduced suddenly and street flooding will be possible.
Elsewhere in the tropics, prayers for the east coast as major Hurricane Florence heads towards a landfall on Friday. Isaac will be a weak tropical storm before dissipating in the Caribbean by Sunday. Hurricane Helene will remain out in the Atlantic and be no threat to land through this weekend.
