TERMINATION OF LOCAL EMERGENCY DECLARATION FOR IBERIA PARISH, LOUISIANA (Tropical Storm/Hurricane Sally)


WHEREAS, the Parish President is authorized by Louisiana Law; including, but not limited to the Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act (La. R.S. 29:721, et seq), as well as the Iberia Parish Home Rule Charter and other applicable, ordinances, resolutions, or statutes to declare a local state of emergency for Iberia Parish, Louisiana;

WHEREAS, as a result of the potential threat of widespread damage, injury and/or loss of life or property in the form of heavy winds, rains, storm surges and flooding that could have occurred as a result of Tropical Storm Sally (Hurricane Sally), a Declaration of Local Emergency for Iberia Parish, Louisiana was issued beginning of 3:00p.m. of Sunday, September 13, 2020 and continuing until terminated.

WHEREAS, when the Parish President determines that the threat of danger and emergency conditions no longer exist, a declared state of emergency may be terminated;

WHEREAS, a determination has been made that the threat of danger and emergency conditions as a result of Tropical Storm Sally (Hurricane Sally) no longer exists.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, M. Larry Richard, President of Iberia Parish hereby declare that the Local Emergency Declaration of September 13, 2020 relating to Tropical Storm Sally (Hurricane Sally) is hereby terminated effective at 5:00p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020.
