Mosquito Control

For more information contact: Herff Jones (337) 380-7140

Heavy rains, scattered thunder storms and persistent showers have set the perfect scenario for abundant floodwater mosquitoes in Iberia Parish and across southwest Louisiana. We are aware of the nuisance and discomfort these mosquitoes cause. Rest assured operations will persist to arrest these populations. Aerial operations will begin Tuesday (10/2) in Hubertville & Jeanerette, Wednesday (10/3) Sugar Oaks & Loreauville and Thursday (10/4) Rynella, Laurent and Grand Marais. The District is asking citizens If you must be outdoors --- wear repellent, cover exposed skin and avoid outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active. If weather conditions are favorable operations will begin near sunset and last approximately one and one-half hours (1.5).
