DISASTER SNAP (DSNAP)
Received federal approval for Virtual DSNAP for 25 parishes approved for FEMA Individual Assistance:

Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin (lower St. Martin parish ZIP codes 70339 and 70380 only), St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.
DSNAP provides food assistance to eligible households who do not receive regular SNAPbenefits and who need help buying groceries due to lost income or damages following a disaster.
SNAP recipients are not eligible for DSNAP and should not apply DSNAP ALPHABET SCHEDULE PHASE 1 –September 20-25 E. Baton Rouge, E. Feliciana, Iberia, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Washington, W. Baton Rouge and W. Feliciana Day 1 (Sept. 20) –Residents with last names beginning with A-F Day 2 (Sept. 21) –G-M Day 3 (Sept. 22) –N-S Day 4 (Sept. 23) –T-Z Day 5 (Sept. 24) –Open for all (letters A-Z) in the Phase 1 parishes Day 6 (Sept. 25)–Open for all (letters A-Z) in the Phase 1 parishes
HOW TO APPLY/INTERVIEW FOR DSNAP: • Call 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for your interview on the assigned day for your parish. • Take advantage of A-Z days! • Dial LAHelp-U at 1-888-524-3578. • Select language and press 6
WHAT TO DO NOW Pre-Register for DSNAP. (Encouraged but not required.) Will make application process easier and quicker. www.dcfs.la.gov/preregister. • Gather documents: • Name, DOB and SSN for eachhousehold member • Driver’s license or state-issued ID for head of household • Residential address and mailing address (if different) • Income information for each household member • Resources information (i.e. cash, checking, savings) for each household member • Amount of disaster-related expenses you incurred or will incur (Aug. 26 to Sept. 24, 2021)
