Security, Courthouse & Facilities Manager
Job Description
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Supervises, provides and arranges for Courthouse Building security ensuring the safety of employees, staff, visitors and the public. Provides security systems for all Parish owned buildings and properties as required. Reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Responsible for the supervision and training of contract personnel: supervisory duties include scheduling, instruction, assigning and reviewing work, coordinating activities, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, and recommending employee discipline and discharge as appropriate. Reviews the work of subordinates and makes recommendations for improvement as necessary.
Oversees installed alarm systems through the Courthouse and all Parish facilities. Trains security officers and supervises all day-to-day activities of the Courthouse to ensure the safety, security and well-being of the public, courthouse and those in confinement.
Ensures that personnel are in compliance with all applicable polices, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of the Parish. Ensures that all Parish facilities main entrances and emergency entrances and exits are being properly run and used. Ensures that the judicial officials, courtrooms and everyone with business in the courthouse are being provided with the proper amount of security at all times.
Identifies problems and notifies proper individuals when suspicious actions are seen. Reports infractions and violations. Interacts and communicates with the immediate supervisor, subordinates, co-workers, court personnel, judges, attorneys, defendants, law enforcement, the general public, etc.
Job Requirements Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by three to five (3-5) years of experience or training in law enforcement or public safety/security, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license. Job Classification Position: Regular Full Time Compensation: Based on experience & knowledge Benefits: Insurance, Paid Leave, Holidays
