LEVYING OF MILLAGES FOR THE YEAR 2017 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 4/21/2017 For more information contact: Brenda P. Bergeron, Clerk of the Council
NEW IBERIA, LA - April 21, 2017 - The Iberia Parish Council will hold a public hearing and a public meeting on May 24, 2017 to hear public comments and adopt Ordinances to levy the millage rates for the year 2017.
Persons wishing to address the Council during the public hearing should complete a Speaker Participation Form and turn into the Clerk prior to the beginning of the meeting on May 24, 2017. Forms will be available at the meeting.
Publications will appear in the official journal, The Daily Iberian, as follows:

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705 (B) that a public hearing of the Iberia Parish Council in Iberia Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in the Council Chambers located on the 4th Floor of the Main Court Building, located at 300 Iberia Street, New Iberia, LA on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. intends to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $11,329,420, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $1,385,097.
