Marshall Iberia Parish – Here is this afternoon’s update from the National Weather Service in Lake Charles: The National Hurricane Center is continuing a low (10%) chance for tropical development in the eastern Gulf of Mexico early to the middle of next week on a tropical wave currently near the Dominican Republic. Irregardless of development, locally we are expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms each day next week, with lightning and heavy rain being the primary threats. In addition, tides will run around a foot above normal next week. Way out in the Atlantic, Potential Tropical Cyclone 6 is expected to become a hurricane this weekend, but it is not a threat to our region over the next week.
