The National Hurricane Center has a medium (60%) chance for tropical development in the western Gulf of Mexico, associated with a trough of low pressure moving west across the southern Gulf of Mexico. The system is a little less organized this morning. This system will reach the south Texas coast Friday or Saturday, and it could still become a tropical depression before then, so stay tuned for updates this week.
We are still carrying high rain chances through Saturday. Be careful when heavy rains do occur, as they can flood roads and reduce visibility rapidly.
