Iberia Parish – Our latest NWS forecast.
As of 7 am Thursday, the National Hurricane Center has a medium (50%) chance for tropical development on the system in the southern Gulf of Mexico. It will reach the south Texas coast on Friday. It possibly could become a tropical depression by then.

As of 7 am Thursday, the National Hurricane Center has a medium (50%) chance for tropical development on the system in the southern Gulf of Mexico. It will reach the south Texas coast on Friday. It possibly could become a tropical depression by then.
Locally, we are expecting a continuance of the above normal rain chances through at least Saturday, with tides running about a foot above normal.
Hurricane Florence will be making landfall late tonight into Friday in the Carolinas.
Isaac is a weak system in the Caribbean, and will likely dissipate this weekend. Some weather model scenarios show it regaining some strength next week in the western Caribbean, but the probability of that is very low at this point. Joyce and Helene will stay far out in the Atlantic.
