Iberia Parish: From the NWS in Lake Charles:
The National Weather Service is continuing to monitor a tropical disturbance just east of the Yucatan peninsula. The National Hurricane Center has increased the probability for development to 90% through early next week. The disturbance is forecasted to move into the Gulf of Mexico on Monday While confidence is growing that the disturbed weather will move mainly over the eastern half of the Gulf, we will need to monitor this system as there still remains considerable uncertainty as to where and when a center of circulation develops.
Regardless of the status of this system, we are expecting higher than normal tides across the region with the potential for minor coastal flooding Monday and Tuesday at high tide. At this time, no significant inland impacts are anticipated with this disturbance.
