Over the next 3 weeks the Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will conduct aerial operations to address persistent mosquito populations as well as prepare for the little ones out for Halloween. Updates will follow as to the days and target areas selected each evening. These operations we cover the majority of the Parish beginning Wednesday (10/17) and Thursday (10/18) evenings. The District is asking citizens If you must be outdoors --- wear repellent, cover exposed skin and avoid outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active. If weather conditions are favorable operations will begin near sunset and last approximately one and one-half hours (1.5).

Updates will follow as to the days and target areas selected each evening. These operations we cover the majority of the Parish beginning Wednesday (10/17) and Thursday (10/18) evenings. The District is asking citizens If you must be outdoors --- wear repellent, cover exposed skin and avoid outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active. If weather conditions are favorable operations will begin near sunset and last approximately one and one-half hours (1.5).

During this period, only hypersensitive individuals or persons that wish to avoid all exposure to chemicals in the designated spray area should refrain from outdoor activities; otherwise all other citizens can proceed with normal outdoor activities!

Citizens will notice low flying aircraft --- If the aircraft is overhead DO NOT attempt to follow the path of the aircraft. The aircraft is traveling quickly and will be out of the area in a brief period!

Wednesday (10/17) operations will encompass Hwy 88 / Coteau Rd., Coteau, the Acadiana Regional Airport, Livingston Rd. west to the Parish line, Romero Rd., Coteau park, Hwy. 90 and all points in between.

Thursday (10/18) night Coteau Holmes Gondron, Oday, Harold Landry west to Rodrigue Rd. and all points in between. Followed by Sugar Oaks operations will focus in Sugar Oaks, Daspit, Interlaken, Vida Shaw, Loreauville, Ed Broussard and all points in between.
