GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under regular supervision, performs technical work with responsibility for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater treatment plants, sewerage systems, lift stations, package plants, and related equipment. Reports to the Wastewater Collections Supervisor.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Remains subject to on call, stand-by duty, or 24-hour basis.

Performs grounds maintenance work as necessary.

Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent with three to four years of experience working in a wastewater treatment plant as an operator and in the lab; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess valid Louisiana driver's license. Must have successfully completed required courses and certification; may be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the Parish.Assist in maintaining compliance with various Louisiana State Department Laws. Class 3 Certification is Required. Report to Plant Manager.
