I want to assure the public that we have
planned for this moment and are prepared to act in the best interest of the citizens of Iberia Parish. We have and will continue to follow the directives of the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Louisiana
Department of Health and Hospitals and the Governor regarding this virus.
Your Iberia Parish officials have been in constant contact with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Dr. Tina Stefanski and her staff at the Region 4 Louisiana Office of Public Health and Dionne Viator and the physicians and staff of Iberia Medical Center. They have been tremendous resources for information relating to COVID-19. I will continue to rely heavily rely upon them for advice and assistance.We have also been conducting regular briefings with our local school, municipal and law enforcement partners.
We have all been working together diligently to limit or prevent the spread of this virus. The best way to do so is for each of us to follow the safety measure that are being stressed by our public health officials, such as social distancing, reducing unnecessary face-to face contact with the general public, thorough hand washing and remaining at home if you are ill. I urge you to check the Iberia Parish Government website and the Iberia Parish Information Notification System (pins) for the latest information, updates and alerts regarding Covid-19.
