Iberia Parish Council and School Board Illustrative Plans Based on 2020 Census Available on Websites - 9/21/2021 For more information contact: Brenda P. Bergeron
NEW IBERIA, LA - September 21, 2021 - State and Federal laws require all jurisdictions that elect their representatives by district to reapportion as necessary after census data is released to rebalance the population. The Iberia Parish Council and School Board are working together to reapportion their respective districts in Iberia Parish. Maps showing how precincts could be divided to balance the population and the demographics for each map are available at the links shown below this message. Additional maps produced from future workshops will be uploaded as they become available.
Workshops will be held over the next couple of months to cover the reapportionment process, the 2020 Census data, and how that census data affects the current Iberia Parish Council and School Board election districts. Upcoming Workshop Notices will be posted on this page as they are scheduled by the demographer.
