Hazardous Weather Message … Heavy Rain and Severe Weather Possible Through this Afternoon/Evening...


IMPACTS: Showers and thunderstorms capable of all modes of severe weather, as well as heavy rain leading to flash flooding will continue through this afternoon/evening. All modes of severe weather will be possible however, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes remain the main threats. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches with localized higher amounts will also continue to be possible and flash flooding may become an issue in already saturated areas .

WHERE: There is a Slight Risk for severe weather (2 out of 5) for the I-49 corridor and Acadiana and a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for the remainder of the area. There is also a Marginal Risk for excessive rain (1 out of 4) for the I-49 corridor and Acadiana.

WHEN: Showers and storms are ongoing this morning along and ahead of an approaching cold front. Convection will continue to move west to east today, tapering off across SE TX through the mid-day and across Acadiana by this evening.
