NEW IBERIA, LA - June 2, 2022 - The Iberia Parish Council announces that a seat on the Iberia Parish Council, representing District 13, has become vacant due to the untimely death of the Honorable Marty Trahan.

Persons interested in seeking this position will be requested to address the Council at a Special Meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 to present their qualifications. Persons should forward a letter of interest and/or resume no later than TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to the attention of Mr. Warren P. Gachassin, Jr., Chairman, Iberia Parish Council, c/o Clerk of the Council, 300 Iberia Street - Suite 410, New Iberia, LA 70560. Members of the Iberia Parish Council must be at least eighteen (18) years old and qualified electors and residents of the election district which they represent. All applicants must be residents of District 13, may not hold a dual office, and may not serve simultaneously on certain other public boards specified in the Constitution of Louisiana.
