A curfew is in effect from 10PM to 6AM tonight within the city limits of New Iberia. New Iberia streets are closed until further notice. A curfew is in effect from 10PM to 6AM tonight within the city limits of Delcambre. A curfew is in effect from 5PM to 6AM tonight within the city limits of Jeanerette. A curfew is in effect for the unincorporated areas of Iberia Parish from 7PM until 6AM tonight. Voluntary evacuation by those living South of U.S. Highway 90 and in flood prone areas is highly recommended. Tropical Storm force wind gusts (over 39mph) are expected to continue until tomorrow morning in Iberia Parish. Iberia Parish’s forecast rainfall is 3” – 4” between 7PM tonight and 1AM Sunday, 3” – 4” between 1AM Sunday and 7AM Sunday, and 1” between 7AM Sunday and 1PM Sunday.

Barry is a strong tropical storm with 65 mph winds.

Life-threatening rainfall of 10 to 15 inches with locally higher amounts is still possible for parts of south central Louisiana tonight into Sunday.

Storm surge of 3 to 7 feet is expected for coastal sections of Vermilion, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes. This includes Intracoastal City, Erath, Delcambre, Henry, Cypremort Point, and Burns Point.

Damaging winds will cause scattered to numerous power outages, trees blown down, and damage to homes and businesses across southwest, south central, and central Louisiana. Isolated power outages and damages will be possible in southeast Texas.

Isolated tornadoes are possible in rain bands in south central and central Louisiana.
