Iberia Parish – From NWS Lake Charles (Iberia is considered ‘South Central Louisiana’ in their forecasts):

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is monitoring a line of strong to severe storms entering the western side of Houston. It is forecast to move east this morning, reaching Tyler, Hardin, and Jefferson counties between 1030 am and noon. Conditions will likely be favorable for a tornado watch for all of southeast Texas and parts of southwest and central Louisiana later this morning and extend into this afternoon.

The primary threat from these storms will be damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

The severe weather threat is currently lower for south central Louisiana later this afternoon and evening. However, we will be monitoring this closely as the storms approach our region.
