New Iberia, LA - Iberia Parish President Ernest Freyou announces the first of three grant cycles for the Iberia Parish Tourism Community Development Fund, a component Fund of Community Foundation of Acadiana. The Fund was established with dollars allocated for Iberia Parish from the BP Louisiana Tourism Recovery Fund, administered by the State of Louisiana Office of the Lt. Governor, Department of Culture, Tourism and Recreation. The State of Louisiana, BP, Iberia Parish Government and Community Foundation of Acadiana have convened on this project to attract tourists to Iberia Parish and boost its economic vitality after the Oil Spill.
Applications will be accepted July 1, 2011 – August 15, 2011 from organizations interested in applying for Tourism Marketing Grants and Tourism Product Development Grants. In an effort to assist organizations in the application process, a workshop will be held July 18, 2011 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the Iberia Parish Library 445 E. Main Street, New Iberia, LA.
The blind selection process will be facilitated by the Board of Directors of the Iberia Parish Enhancement Fund, an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana. Grantees will be notified by September 15, 2011.
