PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THOSE IN IBERIA PARISH WHO RECENTLY SUFFERED FLOOD DAMAGE -PERMIT, PLANNING AND ZONING - STEPS TO USE
8/17/2016  2016 Flood

Step One: Contact your insurance company or agent, if you have one, to begin the claim process. Step Two: Clean up should begin as soon as the flood waters recede. When it is safe to enter your home or business, go tom to room and separate your damaged and undamaged items. ...

Step Three: Document your damages and losses by making a thorough and detailed list of all your damaged possessions, as well as the damage to your home or business. Pictures or videos of the damaged property and possessions are good methods of documentation to include with your loss claim. Document your losses even if you do not have insurance, as you might be entitled to make other claims for assistance. More detailed information about making a claim with FEMA can be found at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-(800) 621-FEMA (3362) or 1 (800) 462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.
