Besides the heavy rain threat, tides are running half a foot to a foot above normal. Minor coastal flooding could occur during high tide after midnight tonight.
Invest 99L is still a weak, broad low pressure area in the Bahamas. NHC gives this system a 30% chance of developing in the next 2 days and a 40% chance of developing next week in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This is not a threat to us right now, but it is worth monitoring through the upcoming week.
Other systems of note in the Atlantic include Gaston, a tropical storm that has the potential to become a hurricane. It will remain far out in the Atlantic. A low pressure system near Bermuda has a 30% chance of developing as it moves towards the Carolinas next week. A tropical wave moving off the African coast has a 30% chance of developing as it moves west across the Atlantic and is currently expected to move up into the Atlantic. None of these systems pose a threat to us locally.
