One of the most important roles of local government is to be responsive to the needs of the community. The Iberia Parish Government Boards and Commissions oversee a number of Parish owned assets and resources that offer services to the public. From airports to water districts, it is the goal of these boards, commissions, and departments to provide superior residential services that enhance citizen quality of life. Additionally, Iberia Parish provides numerous playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts, swimming pools and recreation centers located throughout the Parish, providing services for residents of all ages.

Animal Control
The Iberia Parish Rabies and Animal Control Department’s main purpose is to provide a public health program to ensure rabies vaccination and registration for all dogs and cats residing in Iberia Parish. The program includes enforcing the rabies and leash law ordinances, inclusive of animal quarantine and observation due to animal bites.

The Iberia Parish County Agent’s Office is a useful resource for a variety of both agricultural and consumer questions. The department has three main focuses: Agricultural/Natural Resources, Family & Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development. Homeland Security
The Iberia Parish Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) leads the Parish’s emergency management efforts, overseeing preparation, prevention, response, recovery, and mitigation. Collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies, OHSEP coordinates evacuations, sheltering, search and rescue, and disaster recovery, while managing FEMA grants and executing flood mitigation projects. By fostering an all-hazards approach and refining strategies based on past experiences, OHSEP strengthens the Parish’s resilience and ensures a unified response to emergencies. Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau
We invite you to savor the difference in Iberia Parish where our blend of Cajun spices provides a unique taste of Louisiana’s Cajun Country. The Iberia Parish Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official parish marketing agency promoting New Iberia, Avery Island, Jefferson Island, Jeanerette, Loreauville and Delcambre as a destination. Marketing programs target leisure travelers, business travelers, media, entertainment industry, and the travel trade including group tour planners, meeting planners, sports planners and special event planners.
Iberia Parish Library System
The Iberia Parish Library System includes the Main Library and seven additional branches, and features more than 285,000 titles. In addition to the Main Branch, located at 445 E. Main Street, the library system also includes multiple branches disbursed through out Iberia Parish.
Parks and Recreation
The Iberia Parish Parks and Recreation Department operates 14 parks throughout the parish, totaling almost 400 acres of green space available to the public. Organized competitive sports for both children and adults are available, including softball, baseball, soccer, football, swimming, basketball, volleyball and tennis.
Registrar of Voters
The Iberia Parish Registrar of Voters Office, is responsible for the registration of all voters, as well as the administration and enforcement of the rules and laws of the Secretary of State relating to voting matters. This office is also responsible for conducting early voting, and absentee voting by mail.
