Iberia Parish Permit Office
The purpose of the Iberia Parish Permit Office is to ensure that all building codes adopted by the Iberia Parish Council are enforced and in compliance, relating to the construction of any structure outside the city limits of New Iberia and within the boundaries of Iberia Parish. Through a partnership, the Iberia Parish Permit office also assists with plan review and inspections for Delcambre, Loreauville and Jeanerette.
Inspections are performed in a timely manner to ensure compliance with the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code, the 2021 International Building Code, the 2021 International Existing Building Code, the 2021 International Residential Code, the 2020 National Electrical Code, the 2021 International Mechanical Code, the 2021 International Fuel Gas Code, the 2021 International Plumbing Code, the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code, FEMA and Iberia Parish’s land development code.
Permit fee payments must be made by money order, debit/credit card or company check. No cash or personal checks are accepted.
This office also helps residents in determining the flood elevations associated with their property.
