The Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will conduct aerial mosquito control operations on Tuesday (6/24) and Wednesday (6/25) evenings to address persistent mosquito populations in the parish.
Spraying will begin near sunset and last approximately one hour, weather permitting.
- Tuesday, June 24: Delcambre and Rip Van Winkle area
(Including: South of Lake Peigneur, R. Esponge Rd., Bob Acres Rd., Longside Rd., Andras Rd., BJ Estelle Dr., Avery Island Rd., Segura Rd., and surrounding areas) - Wednesday, June 25: Lydia, Avery Island, South Port of Iberia
(Including: Bayou Jack, College Rd., and nearby neighborhoods)
Citizens are encouraged to wear mosquito repellent as directed, avoid outdoor activity at dawn and dusk, wear light-colored clothing, and eliminate standing water around their homes.
Low-flying aircraft will be visible during spraying. If you see one overhead, do not attempt to follow it—it will leave the area quickly. Individuals with chemical sensitivities may wish to stay indoors during operations.
