The National Weather Service is forecasting that Iberia Parish can expect 1”-1.5” of rain in Iberia Parish this afternoon before 6PM, and 3”-4” total by tomorrow morning.
However, the most significant rainfall hazard to Iberia Parish will occur overnight, when Weather Service modeling indicates the possibility of local amounts of up to 10” of rain.
Receiving these higher amounts of rain overnight could cause flooding that closes roads and affects businesses and residences overnight and into the morning commute.
Public works staff will have road closure signage prepositioned so roads can be closed at first light if necessary.
The risk of tornadoes, damaging winds and hail exists, but is low.
