Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To
Under regular supervision, performs technical work with responsibility for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater treatment plants, sewerage systems, lift stations, package plants, and related equipment. Reports to the Wastewater Collections Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, sewerage systems, lift stations, package plants, and related equipment.
- Performs various tasks related to maintenance of lawns/grounds at lift stations and packaging plants, which may include mowing/edging grass, cutting weeds, cutting shrubs/roots, digging holes or trenches, shoveling materials, picking up debris and litter, or lifting/moving heavy materials.
- Performs general/preventative maintenance tasks necessary to keep plant and equipment in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking/replacing fluids, refueling vehicles, greasing equipment, performing basic repairs, washing/cleaning equipment, or cleaning shop/work areas; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; report faulty equipment.
- Follows safety procedures; utilizes safety equipment; monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
- Assists in calls for emergency assistance as needed.

Minimum Training & Experience
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in wastewater treatment preferred. Must possess valid Louisiana driver’s license. Must have successfully completed required courses and certification; may be required to possess additional certification(s).
