From the National Weather Service:
The low pressure area in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico has strengthened enough to be called Tropical Depression 2.
It is forecast to move over the eastern Gulf, and could strengthen to a tropical storm within the next 24 hours.
However the environment becomes unfavorable for development this weekend, and the depression will dissipate.
The good news is we will have no weather impacts in our region from this system!
