Today, June 1, marks the official start of hurricane season, and this year is expected to be above average. According to NOAA, the 2025 outlook includes:
- 13 to 19 named storms
- 6 to 10 hurricanes
- 3 to 5 major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher)
Contributing factors include warmer than average Atlantic waters and favorable atmospheric conditions.
Now is the time to prepare – not when a storm is approaching.
