An Arctic air mass is moving into the region this morning, bringing an end to the rain but ushering in very cold temperatures and dangerously low wind chills, particularly during the night and early morning hours through Friday.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 PM tonight until 10 AM Thursday, with another advisory likely for Thursday night into Friday morning. Residents should take precautions to protect themselves by dressing warmly to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Additionally, steps should be taken to safeguard pipes and sensitive vegetation. Lastly, pets should be brought indoors or provided with a warm, sheltered environment.
