From Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard – Severe Weather Update, May 13th

The National Weather Service is forecasting that Iberia Parish will experience scattered, severe thunderstorms beginning at noon today into the evening.

These scattered severe thunderstorms will be followed by a complex of severe thunderstorms between 8PM and Midnight.

Hazards for these storms include:

• 2-4 inches of rain
• A 30% – 44% chance of 60 MPH wind gusts, and a 10% or greater chance of wind gusts over 74 MPH
• A 15% – 29% chance of severe hail, with a 10% or greater chance of hail over 2 inches in diameter
• A 5% – 9% chance of a tornado within 25 miles.
