The National Weather Service Lake Charles in coordination with the National Hurricane Center has indicated a low-pressure system making its way across Florida has the potential to develop into a tropical depression later this week.
Regardless of this development, this system has the potential to bring prolonged periods of heavy rainfall Wednesday through Saturday. The system may impact Iberia Parish with the compounding effects of previous rainfall causing flash flooding in low lying and flood prone areas. This system also has the potential to deliver 4-6 inches of rain Thursday through Saturday with pockets of 2-3 inches of rain per hour in some instances.
Please take time now to prepare. We will continue to monitor conditions and share new information as it becomes available.
