In anticipation of the upcoming weather, our Public Works department is taking proactive measures to ensure safety by sanding bridges throughout the parish. This effort is essential to prevent hazardous conditions caused by ice and frost, especially on bridges, which tend to freeze more quickly than roads due to their exposure to colder air on both sides.
By applying sand to these surfaces, the department aims to improve traction for vehicles and reduce the risk of accidents during the colder conditions. This is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the community safe and minimizing disruptions caused by inclement weather.
We encourage all drivers to exercise caution, maintain safe speeds, and remain alert while traveling.
