Community Input Sought for 2026 Iberia Parish Multi-Jurisdictional 

Hazard Mitigation Plan Update 

PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT  

New Iberia, LA— From Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard;  

Iberia Parish is currently in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan, and we need your input to ensure our community is resilient against future disasters. This plan is our roadmap for reducing the long-term risks associated with natural hazards—such as flooding, hurricanes, and other natural disasters—before they strike. By identifying our vulnerabilities now, we can prioritize projects that protect lives, homes, and businesses across the parish. 

The meeting will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 10:00 AM at the Iberia Parish Communications Center, located at 1111 Ember Dr., New Iberia, LA 70560.
