This afternoon, Iberia Parish Government CAO Bo Belanger had the honor of speaking to students from The Fire Starter Project, a dynamic leadership program designed to empower high school juniors across Iberia Parish. These young leaders, nominated by their schools, are embarking on a year-long journey to develop essential skills in leadership, communication, team building, and networking.
During their visit to the Iberia Parish Courthouse, they explored the rich history of our local government and learned about its structure, from the evolution of the police jury system to the modern council-president form of government. They also heard fascinating stories about the past, including urban legends about the courthouse!
Programs like The Fire Starter Project are crucial in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, showing them the impact they can have in their communities. Huge thanks to the Fire Starter Project board for their dedication to mentorship and civic engagement!
Keep the fire burning, future leaders!
