On February 11, 2026, the Iberia Parish Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) convened for its scheduled meeting to address critical public safety and hazardous materials planning. Chaired by the Iberia Parish OHSEP Director, the committee gathered representatives from various sectors—including law enforcement, Hospital, EMS, local government, and industry—to fulfill its mandate under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). Key agenda items included LEPC By-Laws, Officer elections, proposed emergency response plans and industry briefs, to ensure coordination across various Iberia Parish entities. This session serves as a vital forum for local leaders to identify potential chemical risks, prevent accidents, and refine the Parish’s Emergency Operations Plan to better protect the residents of Iberia Parish.
