From Iberia Parish President m. Larry Richard –
IBERIA PARISH GOVERNMENT MONITORING POWER OUTAGES AFFECTING APPROXIMATELY 1,800 UTILITY CUSTOMERS
IBERIA PARISH, LA —
The Iberia Parish Government and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) are actively tracking power outages currently impacting approximately 1,800 homes and commercial properties across various sections of Iberia Parish.
Parish leadership remains in communication with operations dispatch at both Entergy Louisiana and Cleco Power. Utility teams are actively working in the field to assess system impacts, repair damaged infrastructure, and restore electrical service safely and efficiently.
We urge all residents to take necessary safety precautions until power restoration is completed.
Reporting & Outage Tracking:
Residents experiencing an interruption in service should report it directly to their respective utility provider:
  • Entergy Louisiana: Call 1-800-9OUTAGE (1-800-968-8243) or visit outagemap.entergy.com.
  • Cleco Power: Call 1-800-622-6537 or visit [cleco.com/outage-center](https://cleco.com/outage-center).
Public Safety Directives:
  • Traffic Control: All non-functioning or unpowered traffic signals must be treated as a four-way stop under state law.
  • Downed Power Lines: Stay a minimum of 30 feet away from any downed or sagging lines. Assume all lines are energized and dangerous. Report hazards immediately to 911 or your electric utility provider.
  • Portable Generators: Operate portable generators outdoors only, positioned at least 20 feet away from doors, windows, and vents to eliminate carbon monoxide hazards. Never attempt to back feed a house by plugging a generator directly into a standard wall outlet.
