State of Local Emergency Declared in Iberia Parish Due to Freezing Cold Weather

Iberia Parish, Louisiana, is facing the threat of dangerous conditions, including freezing cold temperatures and wind chills, freezing rain with ice accumulation and below-freezing conditions persisting for 24-48 hours, creating hazardous driving conditions and potential disruptions to infrastructure.

To protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents and property, I have declared a State of Local Emergency effective January 25, 2026, until further notice.

Emergency Operations Plans are activated, with the Iberia Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security serving as the primary point of contact.
