Iberia Parish – From the NWS in Lake Charles:

The National Hurricane Center is continuing to monitor an area of disturbed weather over the far western Caribbean. NHC has increased chances for tropical development to 70 percent through early next week. The disturbed area is forecasted to move into the southern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. Until better organization is noted, it's still too early to predict impacts for our local area. Stay tuned for further updates.

We will be seeing increased rain chances this weekend due to an upper level system system unrelated to the Caribbean disturbance. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecasted to continue for early next week as well. At this time, tides are forecasted to be around 1 foot above normal.
