Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard Update Flood Alert - 8/25/2017 For more information contact: Prescott Marshall
In order to safeguard Iberia Parish residents from forecast heavy rainfall due to Hurricane Harvey, Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has called for a voluntary evacuation of those areas in Iberia Parish which are located South and Southwest of U.S. Highway 90. The National Weather Service has forecast flooding rains and possible tropical storm force winds which could impede evacuation from this area as Hurricane Harvey approaches. Elderly residents and residents with medical or mobility special requirements should especially consider evacuating until the risk to Iberia Parish from Hurricane Harvey has passed.
All Iberia Parish residents should review their hurricane preparedness plans and be prepared to execute their plan as early as Sunday in the event Hurricane Harvey is forecast to threaten our area.
Iberia Parish is not opening a shelter at this time. |
