From the National Weather Service this morning:
Nate is still strengthening, and is expected to be a category two hurricane by landfall tonight. Landfall projections are between southeast Louisiana and Mobile, AL Local weather impacts will be:
East to northeast winds will gust 20 to 30 mph this afternoon into tonight, mainly along and south of the I-10 corridor. We could see a few power outages.
Tides will continue to run one to one and a half feet above normal today through Sunday. Minor coastal flooding is expected during high tide this afternoon and again overnight.
Rain totals will be less than half an inch across the entire forecast area today and tonight, with localized amounts of an inch possible in stronger rain bands.
There is a extremely low tornado threat in rain bands today. |
