REVISED PROTOCOLS FOR IBERIA PARISH GOVERNMENT FACILITIES
On May 14, 2020, protocols were established for Parish Government Offices and Parish owned and operated facilities, all related to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the consequential state and local emergency declarations . Those protocols were withdrawn on April 19, 2021, and more relaxed restrictions imposed because of the progress which the State of Louisiana had made in the management of the Pandemic.
Additionally , progress has been made in the last several weeks. Executive Order 79 JBE 2021 further relaxed mitigation measures, and more recently , the statewide mask mandate was withdrawn by Executive Order 85 JBE 2021. Vaccines are also readily available to anyone over the age of twelve years, which vaccines offer an efficacy rate of over 70%.
Therefore, in accordance with the most recent directives from the Governor and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, the protocols of April 19, 2021, are withdrawn, and replaced by the following:
1. Temperature checks are no longer required for anyone entering Iberia Parish Government facilities. 2. No mask or face coverings are required of anyone entering Iberia Parish Government facilities, except as otherwise set forth herein. 3. Access to any Iberia Parish Government facility shall be denied to anyone who presents any symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, dry cough, sore throat, diarrhea, loss of smell or taste, and respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath. 4. . Any indoor meeting should be conducted in areas where social distancing can be maintained. 5. Random social visits by any member of the public shall not be allowed in any Iberia Parish Government facilities . 6. Health Units will continue to interact with the public pursuant to the current protocols and guidance of the Louisiana Department of Health. 7. All Parish libraries shall be free to establish more restrictive protocols as deemed appropriate by the Executive Director.
Every employee is hereby instructed to abide by these revised protocols for parish facilities and to report any violation to his or her supervisor .
