IBERIA PARISH, LA: Iberia Parish Government and Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard to hold ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Robert B. Green Veteran’s Memorial Building, at 1201 Field Street, New Iberia, on July 15, 2021, at 1:30 p.m.

The Robert B. Green Memorial Building has served as a central hub for veteran’s groups and community gatherings for over 50 years.

In early 2015, the building was closed due to safety concerns after the structure had fallen into disrepair.

When Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard took office in 2016, the future of the community building became one of his top priorities.

After many years of hard work, the community center reopening marks the completion of construction. With the community input, to funding and final design, the Robert B. Green Memorial Building is open to the community.

“Our veterans are a very important part of the Iberia Parish community, said M. Larry Richard, Iberia Parish President, and the Robert B Green building has been a center of activity for veterans for many years.

It has been my priority to make sure our veterans have a place to meet and we are happy to mark this day as we honor their service to our country.

Special thanks for the hard work of our legislative delegation, the Iberia Parish Council, and Governor John Bel Edwards, who have been strong partners in making this venture a success”.

Robert B. Green will be open to the community for rentals, in the very near future.
